The Ekiti State Police Command says it has commenced a serious manhunt and investigation to unravel the identities and apprehend those behind the abduction of one Agbanigo Isaac of ikere Ekiti on Saturday, the third of April, 2021at about 1600hrs in his farm along Ajegbende, Ise road, Ekiti State.
The Police Public Relation Officer, Sunday Abutu said that on the said date at about 1845hrs, information got to Ilupeju-Ikere Divisional Police Headquarters that some unknown armed men abducted a man from his farm.
He said on the receipt of the information, a combined team of Police Personnel from Ikere Area Command and Ilupeju-Ikere Divisional Police Headquarters mobilized to the scene where they met the wife and the children of the victim.
Recounting the incident, the wife of the victim said that herself, her husband and their children were about entering their vehicle to return home after finishing their farm work for the day when they were suddenly accosted by seven masked armed men who ordered them to lie down facing the ground or risk their lives.
According to her, after the suspects asked them series of questions, they escorted her and her children to the main road but took her husband away to an unknown destination.
She revealed that her husband’s family members have been in dispute over the same farm with a lot of threats before the incident happened hence, she suspected that the other side of the family must be behind the abduction of her husband, as the abductors were all speaking Ikere dialect.
