The Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Mr Funminiyi Afuye, has congratulated workers in the State on this year’s Workers’ Day for their resilience.
The Speaker, in a statement made available to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti by his Special Adviser on media, Akogun Tai Oguntayo described workers as important stakeholders in the state.
Afuye who commended workers in the State for cooperating with the State government in its service delivery, made a passionate appeal to the workers to always look at the economic realities of the State and continue to cooperate with the State government as Stakeholders in the Ekiti project.
‘It is clear that the state government is making all efforts to ensure the best for the welfare of the workers. But the economy of the country of which the state is a part, is in the doldrums. Yet the State government is making the best efforts to ensure workers do not suffer unduly. The government is managing the business of governance without being profligate’, he said.
The Speaker enjoined workers in Ekiti State to continue to work for the “peace and greatness” of the State, promising that “the assembly will always pass labour friendly laws.”
