The players and officials of Ekiti United fc have been re-assured of rejuvenated efforts at prioritizing their welfare henceforth.
The chairman of Ekiti United management board, Mrs Funke Babalola who met the coaches and officials of the team at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado on Monday said Covid-19 was responsible for the inability for the board to converge and meet the team before the commencement of the Nigeria National League 2021.
She expressed delight at the opportunity to meet and familiarize with the team officials prior to the second stanza of the league .
The Ekiti United management board chairman assured the team of better days ahead in view of the commitment of the management to the welfare of the players and staff of the club.
The physical educationist commended the team for striving hard to keep their head high despite numerous challenges in the first stanza of the league.
A board member and ex-footballer, Mr Femi Olagbemi who was also in attendance said Ekiti United as a squad had been averagecin their performances having assessed its previous NNL performance
He assured that the management board was ready to elevate the team in terms of welfare and performance within the available resources.
A veteran referee and FA board member who is the technical director in the management board, Mr Muyiwa Aregbe also joined as the management took time to interact with the officials of Ekiti United with a view to knowing their challenges and how to resolve all issues affecting the team’s performance.
In the meantime, Ekiti United will today (Tuesday) forge ahead with its preparation for the commencement of the NNL second stanza with a friendly match against EKSU GALACTICOS and later today face OLUKISMET FC .
Tomorrow, Ekiti United fc will also face Sunshine Stars of Akure at 4pm
All matches designed to assess and screen new players who have been invited to the team ahead of the second stanza of the NNL will be played at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado.
