EKSG Pledges to Transform BSES to Global Standard

The Ekiti State Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun has assured the Board and Management of the Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State, that the government is committed to upgrading the station to meet global broadcasting standards.

Olatunbosun who gave the assurance while playing host to Chairman and members of Board of the Broadcasting Corporation emphasized the importance of the station in disseminating information and fostering engagement with a wider audience.

Olatunbosun acknowledged the challenges faced by the station, but reaffirmed the Biodun Oyebanji administration’s determination to modernize its facilities and expand its reach, highlighting its plans for infrastructure upgrades, acquisition of cutting-edge equipment and capacity-building initiatives for members of staff.

“The government recognizes the pivotal role of Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State (BSES) in keeping our citizens informed and connected, we are committed to transforming this station into a world-class platform that will serve not just the state but a global audience,” Olatunbosun stated.

In the interim, the commissioner urged the board members and staff to maximize the use of the resources currently at their disposal. “While we work on the necessary upgrades, I encourage you to maintain excellence with the equipment you have. Creativity and resourcefulness can make a significant difference,” he added.
Earlier in his remarks the Chairman of the Board, Chief Laolu Omosilade, who led the delegation expressed gratitude for the government’s support and pledged the team’s dedication to delivering quality broadcasting.

Omosilade stressed the importance of radio and television as a critical medium for bridging the information gap between the government and the populace.

He assured the commissioner of the member’s commitment to continue providing balanced, informative and entertaining programs that cater for the diverse needs and interests of the audience.
