The Ekiti State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (SPHCDA), through its Advocacy and Social Mobilization Department, has commenced the sensitisation of stakeholders towards the success of the 2024 Integrated Supplemental Measles Vaccination in the State.
The team carried the advocacy to the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) where it addressed stakeholders, including Education Secretaries of the 16 Local Government Areas.
The visit coincided with the Flag-off of the distribution of instructional materials to public basic schools in the state for the 2024/2025 Academic Session.
The health officials called for the support of all and sundry toward ensuring the massive turnout of children for the immunization.
The State Health Educator, Dr Olajumoke Oguntoye, told the gathering that the targets were to achieve 95% measles vaccination for eligible children to guarantee their healthy growth.
Responding, the Chairman of the Education Secretaries in the State and the E.S. for Ado Local Government, Mr Oluwatoyin Omotoso, commended the EKSPHCDA for its commitment the the health care delivery through various interventions.
He assured the team of the support of the stakeholders toward the successful conduct of the exercise.
In attendance at the meeting were Mrs. Akinyosoye, UNICEF Social Behavior Change Consultant, Mrs. Ajimati C.A, SYDANI Representative, Dr. Bamidele, W.H.O Representative and Mrs. Daramola, Assistant State Health Educator (SPHCDA).
