The Ekiti ENDSARS Panel of Inquiry has recommended over N3.7M to the Odua Textile building shop owners whose goods were looted during the ENDSARS protests in Ado Ekiti.
The hoodlums who were in search of COVID-19 palliatives, vandalized four buses and carted away goods worth millions of Naira during the looting.
The affected merchants, Ayoola Rafiat Olayinka, who requested for N1,250,700.00 compensation receives N750,420.00 recommendation and Adetunji Adesanmi requested for N1,330,000.00 but a sum of N798,000.00 was recommended
Others are Olobatuyi Olawale who asked for N833,500.00 but N500,000.36k was recommended as compensation, Adekeye Ganiyu pleaded for N906,000.50k as compensation but was recommended to receive N543,600.36k and Sunday Ajayi who requested for N759,284.61k was recommended to receive N455,570.76k for his goods and N30,000.00 to repair his vehicle.
The Panel considering the facts before it,found that their shops were not broken into but the articles of trade in their vans therefore, not all goods were totally vandalised and thereby recommends 60% compensation for the traders to re-equip their businesses.
