Ekiti United players and officials today resumed training in preparation for their next big clash in the NNL after the league organizers said there won’t be room for the three weeks break earlier scheduled to hold between April 10 and April 23.
The Ayodeji Ayeni led coaching crew earlier today joined the players at the Oluyemi Kayode stadium for the routine training while the training could be more intensive as from tomorrow (Thursday)
Ekiti United’s next match in the NNL is against the table topping Shooting Stars of Ibadan as the JKF Boys will on Saturday hopefully travel to Ijebu Ode, the adopted home ground of Shooting Stars while the match comes up on Sunday April 25 at the Dipo Dina stadium in Ijebu Ode, Ogun state.
Today’s training featured a full squad with all players in good shape according to the club’s medical personnel.
Recall that Ekiti United last weekend moved into contention on the NNL Southern B1 conference table by jumping to the 6th position after beating visiting second placed Rovers fc 2-1 in a rescheduled match.
Shooting stars who had their hands full in the penultimate match against Ekiti United will have to be explore every home advantage to outclass Ekiti United in the reverse fixture while Ekiti United are also spurred to spring a surprise by doing what no other team has done this season against the Oluyole Warriors and that’s picking a point or taking them to the cleaners at their home ground.
While Ekiti United have 14 points to occupy the 6th position on the NNL table, Shooting stars are holding sway with almost 100% record after garnering 28 points from 11 matches , losing 1 and drawing 1 match in the first stanza of the league.
