The Ekiti State Commissioner for Trade, Industry and Investment, Mrs Tayo Adeola has called for more support and prayers for the government of Mr Biodun Oyebanji as both Christians and Muslims are in the fasting season.
She made the call while presenting food items, to the chairmen, and secretaries of the All Progressives Congress from the thirteen wards of Ado Ekiti, for onward distribution to party members
Mrs Adeola said the move was to solidarize with the faithful in this lenten and Ramadan season and to further cushion the effect of the economic downturn.
The commissioner charged the chairmen to ensure even distribution of the largesse, saying that the efforts was also to complement the strides of Governor Oyebanji at reaching out to the people at the grassroots.
She used the opportunity to initimate the gathering of the various economic policies of the BAO’s administration aimed at ensuring the well-being of the populace.
Mrs Adeola said plans are underway by the industry, trade and investment ministry to give qualified entrepreneurs as well as small and medium scale business owners in Ekiti loans to boost their businesses.
She encouraged Ekiti Youth to engage in profitable businesses rather than relying on white collar jobs or political appointments.
The Chairmen in their reactions, described the commissioner’s gesture as one of its kind and promised to distribute the largesse to ensure it get to the targeted people.
They commended her for complementing the governor’s gesture urging others to follow suit.
