Fight against drug…Kayode Adamolekun Foundation charges youth

Ojugbaye comprehensive high School, Imesi Ekiti has emerged the winner of the Kayode Adamolekun Foundation inter-secondary Schools football competition held in Aisegba Ekiti.

Ojugbaye and Aisegba community grammar school slugged it out at the final match, which ended goalless, but the winner was decided through a penalty shoot out.

The penalty shoot out, which ended 4 – 2, gave Ojugbaye the victory after 60 minutes of full time play.

The founder of the foundation, Mr Kayode Adamolekun, an Engineer, accompanied by wife and other guests, presented medals and cash gifts to the winner, the second runner up, which is Aisegba community grammar school and the third position, Ilumoba community grammar school.

Similarly, those whose performances were outstanding were also rewarded with cash gifts.

Earlier, a novelty match between men of the National Drug law enforcement agency and Kayode Adamolekun Foundation team took place.

Mr Adamolekun, in his address, said that the event was borne out of his desire to share out of what God blessed him with.

The founder, who said the foundation hinged on three pillars of Youth empowerment, mentorship, and sensitization against social vices, spoke on the theme of the inter-secondary Schools football competition, which is playing for a drug free society.

In his remarks, the Ekiti State commandant of the NDLEA, Anthony Olowoniyi, lauded the foundation for its support to the agency by discouraging youths from taking to drugs.

One of Nigeria’s ex-international, Mr Mutiu Adepoju, who was a special guest at the occasion, also commended the foundation for promoting grassroots football and for campaigning against drug.

Eight schools from different communities in Gboyin local government area of Ekiti State participated in the competition.
