A handful of shops have been engulfed by fire in Igede Ekiti, in Irepodun ifelodun Local government area of the state.
In a phone call interview, an eye witness, Rev Fr Kayode Clement attributed the cause of the fire which started around 5am to electricity power surge, the flames have sent many residents to panic mood.
He explained that about five shops where spare parts of motorcycles, drinks, provisions, Electronics are sold and hair dressing salon were consumed by the fire.
The respondent also complained about unstable supply of power to the area.
“one thing that is common with the power holding company is to energize our area and switch it off after about five minutes and return it again, this could amount surge”
Men of the Ekiti State fire fighters were already on ground battling to combat the blaze which was intensed.
