Fire has razed one of the buildings at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido Ekiti.
The inferno, which was said to have started around half past six in the evening, razed the entire building being used as a hostel by the medical students of Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti, who are in the facility for their practicals.
Though, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained as at Press time, a report says there was no casualty recorded, but the personal effects of the students were burnt beyond recognition.
It took the intervention of men of the State Fire Service to stop the fire from spreading to the adjourning building.
The Chief Medical Director of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Professor Kunle Ajayi and other management staff were on ground coordinating the rescue efforts.
Afe Babalola University entered into partnership with the Federal Teaching Hospital, prior to the establishment of the ABUAD Multi System Hospital, for the practical training of its medical students.
The affected building belongs to the FTH and was released for the use of ABUAD medical students as a hostel facility.
