Flood takes over Odo Ado

By Ademola Adeleke

The Nigeria Metrological Agency’s prediction that some states, including Ekiti, would witness flooding this year has started manifesting as workers of Ado local government were debar from accessing their office, while residents of the area were also prevented from coming to the town.

The flooding was linked to the torrential rainfall which started from Sunday evening to the following morning.

The flood took over the major road about five hundred meters to Ado local government secretariat.

The development prevented workers of the council who had at around 8 in the morning from gaining access to their office.

Car owners who are residents of the area parked their vehicles close to the flooded area because of their inability to have a thorough fare.

Some of the desperate residents had to treck through the flood water to access their abode.

Speaking with BSES, some road users and residents shared their experience and called on government to help in salvaging the situation.

The chairman of Ado Local Government, Chief Bosun Osaloni, in a swift reaction, said that the road had been awarded to a contractor and promised to mount pressure on him to commence work on the project.

He appealed to the residents and road users to bear with the government pending the time action would commence.

The odo Ado, Ado Local government road also housed the Nigeria Immigration office.
