Foundation pays 50 percent Law school fees of over fifty Eksu students

…Institutes Graduation merit prize awards.

Fifty four students of the Faculty of Law in Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti have gotten fifty percent of their law school fees settled courtesy of the Send a child to school and Joseph Oreoluwa Agbomoagan foundation.

The Founder of the organization, an international legal practitioner, Mr Lugard Agbomoagan during the launch of the scholarship scheme for Law students in EKSU and commissioning of Solar powered generation system for the Faculty of Law also announced graduation merit prize awards for law students.

Mr Agbomoagan who is an Eksu alumnus said the motive behind the donation was to give back to his alma mater and also encourage the students.

He recalled how he benefitted from the scholarship scheme of the legal icon Chief Wole Olanipekun as he could not afford law school fees after his law degree.

“When I finished from school, I have no money to go for law school, so I was in Ibadan until I heard about Chief Wole Olanipekun scholarship scheme, I’m glad and proud to be one of the beneficiaries of the scheme today, It was in view of this that I too felt i should give back to humanity, there could people like me who could not afford law school fees too.”

Agbomoagan who reiterated his passion to do more for the institution, said the foundation was in memory of his late parents and it had been feeding the aged quarterly as well gave scholarships to students of primary and secondary schools.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof Ayodele who appreciated the foundation’s efforts said most tertiary institution across the world developed due to the contributions of the alumni Association.

He said if other alumnus could emulate the gesture of Mr Agbomoagan, EKSU would be better for it.

“I want to thank Mr Agbomoagan for this laudable efforts, and I wish others could emulate him, institutions across the world developed due to the contributions of mostly their alumni, I urge you to continue in this line, your efforts will not go unnoticed.”

The Dean, Faculty of Law, Mr Babalola Abegunde and the president of the representative of the law students, Mr Dotun Ogunniyi as well as one of the beneficiares of the scholarship thanked Agbomoagan for the gesture, acknowledging that it will go a long way in relieving their parents of the burden.

The vice Chancellor later commissioned the 5kva solar power generation at the faculty of law.

Earlier, Mr Agbomoagan and the foundation team had paid a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor where he announced faculty of Education graduation merit prize award in the name of the VC.
