The Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi has called on the people of the state to adopt alternative method of solving chieftaincy tussle rather than resulting to endless legal litigations.
Dr Fayemi who made the plea at the inauguration of the reconstituted State Council of Traditional Rulers 2021/2023 Council Session said that all hands must be on deck to discourage royal tissue that often characterized the appointment of traditional rulers in some communities of the State.
Governor Fayemi congratulated the new Chairman of the Council, the Onisan of Isan-Ekiti, Oba Gabriel Adejuwon on his appointment charging him to build on the successes of his predecessor.
Dr Fayemi who commended the roles of the traditional rulers towards the sustainance of peace in the state noted that his government value the cultural heritage of the people.
In his remarks the Deputy Governor, Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi said that the reconstituted Council was in accordance with the provisions of the Council of Traditional Law
He charged the Chairman and other members of the Council to give the present administration the needed support towards transforming the State to enviable position.
While commenting, Oba Adejuwon promised that the new Council would collaborate with Government to herald more development adding that the wealth of experience of members would be brought to bear in carrying out their duties.
