Governor Fayemi unveils plan for long-term growth of Ekiti

Ekiti State Government will soon unveil a thirty year development plan to provide overall direction for long-term growth of the state.

Governor Kayode Fayemi who gave the information during the inauguration of the State Economic Development Council which was conducted virtually said that Government would put in place the legal frame work that would mandate successive government to key into the plan.

Dr Fayemi discribed the Economic Council as an important organ of Government that would be of immense value in the implementation of government policies and programmes.

The Governor said that the appointment of members of the Council which cut across accomplished Private sector operators and Academics was based on their track records, urging them to bring to bear their wealth of experience.

He charged the council members to be meticulous and come up with viable economic development plan that would accelerate the transformation of the state.

The Chairman of the Council who is the Senior Economic Adviser to the Governor, Alhaji Afolabi Ogunlayi said that the inauguration was appropriate as the State was looking inwards to diversify its economy to reduce total reliant on federal allocation.

Alhaji Ogunlayi gave an assurance that members of the council which cut across various divides would make positive contribution to lengthen the present Government development strides.
