A social-cultural group in the diaspora, Ekiti Kete Coalition, USA has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Ekiti Indigenes into the reconstituted Governing Councils and Boards of federal universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.
In a statement signed by the President of the group, Mr. Joe Olugbamila described the appointments as a welcome development, stressing that the appointees posses the experience, exposure and expertise required to excel in their new assignment.
“On behalf of the Ekiti Kete Coalition, USA, we want to thank the President and commander in chief of the armed forces, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu for the privilege and honor given to the good people of Ekiti State to serve the Country, the statement adds
Mr Olugbamila who said that Tinibu chose merit above parochial interest thanked the President for appointing the Secretary of the Group Hajia Opeyemi Oni as Board member of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria Kaduna State.
The Ikoro Ekiti born political juggernaut also applauded the appointment of his kinsman Engineer Kayode Ojo as the Board chairman, Federal University, Oye Ekiti along other technocrats from the state that have carved niches for themselves in their various endeavors
“It is said, to whom much is given, much is expected. Ekiti Kete Coalition USA, therefore, urge the appointees to justify the confidence which the President reposed in them, by working towards the realization of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu Administration”.
Mr Olugbamila also appreciated the efforts of the Senate leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele and Minister of Solid Mineral Mr Dele Alake as well as other political leaders from the state for their immense contributions towards ensuring that Ekiti State is well represented in the Nation development
The newly approved review list of Governing Councils and Boards of federal universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education by President Tinubu was conveyed in a statement by the Permanent Secretary, General Services Office, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Nnamdi Maurice Mbaeri, and made available to newsmen in Abuja.
