The Chairman of Isokan Local Council Development Area, Mr Kayode Ogundaisi, says that his administration will focus more on Agriculture with a view to boosting the Internally Generated Revenue of the council.
Mr Ogundaisi gave the assurance while meeting with Traditional Rulers and Chiefs of Ifaki, Orin, Odo Ora, Oke Ora and Ilogun communities in the council area.
Mr Ogundaisi who led other management staff of the council on the visit, said that the familiarisation tour would aid the Council’s operation.
He explained that his administration would be embarking on mass agricultural activities and requested for sizeable lands from the communities for the purpose.
The Council boss intimated the Traditional rulers that plans were underway by the council to purchase fifty Jamb forms for students, and promised judicious utilization of the available meagre resources.
On how to improve the internally generated revenue, Mr Ogundaisi charged the people of the area to always patronise the council for the collection of birth, death and marriage certificates, as well payment of taxes as and when due.
The requests of the communities as tabled by their traditional rulers and spokespersons ranged from grading of roads, sinking of boreholes, construction of lockup shops and stalls, among others.
They promised to support the IGR drive of the council boss.
The monarchs are, the Olufaki, Oba Adegbenro Falore, the Olorin, Oba Olufemi Ajibewa, and the Obalemo, Oba Samuel Adeyemo.
Others are the Olora, Oba Ojo Daramola, and the Obalogun, Oba Adebayo Olohuniyo
