Iconic teacher, Christ School legend and community leader, Bayode begins final home journey

The family, in conjuction with the Aisegba Community Grammar School and Christ’s School, Ado-Ekiti Alumni Associations, have come up with a week-long events to give a former Principal of the schools, Chief Olusola Bayode a befitting burial.

In a statement made available for the Newsmen in Ado-Ekiti by the Spokesman of the family, Mr. Morakinyo Bayode said that the family has lined up programmes both in Ado-Ekiti and Ikere Ekiti to honour the late educationist and his contributions to the development of the two communities in the area of physical infrastructure and child development.

Mr. Bayode who said that the burial programmes would start on Monday, April 19th, 2021 with a special commendation service at Aisegba Community Grammar School, Aisegba -Ekiti where Chief Bayode was the pioneer Principal emphasized that this will be a platform for the old students and other stakeholders to celebrate the icon and for the community to reflect on the impact of one of the foremost educational administrators produced by Ekiti State and Nigeria on the development of academic excellence of the area.

He said that members of the immediate and extended family, Christ’s School community, friends of the family as well as well-wishers will converge on Christ’s School premises on Wednesday, April 21st, 2021 for commendation service and Night of Tributes in honour of the departed ‘Old Boy’ and former Principal whose development strategy remains a reference point in the history of the school.

The family’s spokesperson retierated that the body of Chief Olusola Bayode will be received on Thursday, April 22nd by past and present Principals of Christ’s School at the school premises after which his body would be laid-in-state at his residence in Ado-Ekiti before proceeding to his hometown, Ikere-Ekiti.

Mr Bayode said that another lying-in-state will be observed at church hall of Saint Luke’s Anglican Church, Uro, Ikere-Ekiti after which a Christian Wake will be conducted by officials of the Anglican Church.

While saying the funeral Service has been slated to hold at the same church on Friday to pay the last respect to the man described as a pride of his generation and symbol of encouragement, the family spokesperson added that the remains of the Late Olusola Bayode would later be interred at the church cemetery.
