The Chairman of Ise/Orun Local Government, Mr Ayodele Akinluyi, an Engineer, says the fight against insecurity and all forms of criminality should be a collective responsibility.
Mr Akinluyi renewed the call, at the Grand Finale of this year’s Armed Forces and Rememberance Day Celebration, held at Ise Ekiti.
Mr Akinluyi who led other stakeholders to lay the wreath at the Cenotaph, acknowledged the contributions of the fallen heroes to the unity of the Country.
He said that the Nation could surmount the insecurity affecting it if stakeholders regarded the problem as one requiring the efforts of all to tackle.
He reiterated the readiness of his administration to support the Nigeria legion and as well put smiles on the faces of security personnel to discharge their responsibilities as expected.
The Nigeria Legion chairman for Ise/Orun Local government, rtd Major Modupe Asolo, appealed for adequate funding of the legion to enable it to take care of dependants of the fallen heroes.
He thanked the Council boss for ensuring a befitting Programme for this year.
A minute slienct was observed to wish the departed souls eternal rest.
Members of the Nigeria legion and some corps members staged a march past to commemorate the occasion.
