……..Seeks Support For Fallen Heroes’ Families

The Chairman of Kajola Local Council Development Area, Chief Ojo Adedayo joined other Eminent Nigerians to lay wreath on the cenotaph of unknown soldier at Ijesa-Isu-Ekiti as a mark of respect to the soldiers who paid supreme price to keep the nation peace and unity.
The Chairman called on government and well meaning Nigerians to see to the welfare of children and spouses left behind by the heroes who fought for the territorial integrity and Unity of the nation.
Chief Adebayo described the event as historic and called for improved security in the country.
He urged Nigerians not to take the country’s unity, which was achieved on the blood of the nation’s fallen heroes, for granted.
The Kajola council Boss called on the Armed Forces to rise to the challenges of insecurity in the country and rid the nation of criminals.
Chief Adebayo explained that with the regard given to the past heroes, the security operatives in Nigeria should take their responsibility diligently.
The ceremony which is the first of its kind in the LCDA was the climax of activities of the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration.
Earlier, the event began with the inspection of guard of honour by the Chairman, Chief Adebayo and featured parade by members of the Nigerian Legion joined by some corps members before the laying of wreath led by the Chairman.
Others who lay wreath included the former Deputy Governor Chief Paul Alabi, legion Chairman in the LCDA conel Olorunda Adeyanju Rtd and Ikole District Police Officer.
The Chairman of the Legion in the LCDA Col. Olorunda Adeyanju, Rtd called for more welfare packages for ex-service men.
Prayers were offered for the families of the fallen heroes in Both Islamic and Christian ways at the ceremony.
In the meantime, Chief Adebayo had sworn in the newly appointed secretary of the LCDA Mr Osho Adeyanju with a call on him to be diligent in the discharge of his duties.
Responding, Mr Adeyanju thanked Governor Biodun Oyebanji for the honor and promised to justify the confidence reposed in him.
At the ceremony were the Obanla of Ijesa-Isu Ekiti, Oba Osho Adeniyi, former Deputy Governor, Chief Paul Alabi and the Leadership of the LCDA.
