The founder of Adamolekun foundation, Engr Kayode Adamolekun, says the foundation would further strengthening its collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency with a view to nip in the bud the menace of drug abuse.
Adamolekun gave the commitment while on a visit to the office of the NDLEA in Ado Ekiti.
Mr Adamolekun’s visit to the NDLEA office in Ado was part of the foundation’s corporate social responsibility to ensure Nigerians do away from substance injurious to their health.
The Engineer who has been supporting the Ado Ekiti Command of the Drug agency said the radio public enlightenment program on drugs being sponsored by him would continue.
In an interview, Engineer Adamolekun said the drug free club initiated by the foundation in secondary schools in the state had achieved the purpose to which it was established, with the hope to further spread to more schools.
His words…”the foundation goal for the year 2025 is to encourage and support the command that they are not alone in the fight against substance abuse in the state, to renew the weekly Radio WADA campaign program and also to galvanize the support of the command to ensure that the KAF DRUG FREE CLUB which was launched last year is solid with a strong presence in more schools within the State in this new year”
The commandant of Narcotics in Ekiti State, Mr Aina Sunday in his remarks acknowledged the support received from the Foundation.
He explained that the radio program being sponsored by the foundation has enabled the agency reached more populace with it information of abstainance from drug.
His words… “I want to appreciated the founder of KAF for his unrelenting support and sponsorship of many WADA programs of the command for the past three years, I also want to praise him for the huge sum of money he donated last year for the renovation of the State Commander’s office and also for the water project for the Command, I wished that other NGOs within the state would emulate him.”
He added that “drug war is a collective responsibility just like the overall security in any society and all hands must be on deck to support security agencies, just like what KAF is doing“.
The commandant later conducted the Kayode Adamolekun foundation team round the renovated offices of the NDLEA which was sponsored by the foundation.
