By Ademola Adeleke

Tears flew freely at Uwere Farm land along Afao Road in Ado Ekiti, as the houses of some Residents of the area were demolished.

Owners of the affected Houses alleged one Kayode Jegede of being responsible for the demolition.

Three structures of uncompleted three bedroom flat on a two plots of land were completely destroyed by the culprit.

Speaking with reporters, two of the victims, Mrs Christiana Ale, a teacher and Mr Rasheed Akinrinade, a welder, explained that, Mr Jegede who allegedly owns Novel filling station at Ijigbo in Ado Ekiti, had earlier told them last year to vacate the land which he claimed he bought from one Chief Laisi Adebiyi, the Opo Akin of Ado Ekiti.

The duo said, they also purchased the same plots of land from one Chief Adebiyi and the land secretary, Mr Kayode Babalola.

They added that the matter was reported to the Opo Akin Family and that the family told them that the issue had been resolved only to be called early this month, that their houses had been demolished.

Mrs Ale and Mr Akinrinade called on government and well meaning Nigerians, to intervene on the matter to ensure that justice prevailed.

Efforts to speak with Mr Jegede and Chief Adebiyi proved abortive.
