Local vigilantes in Isaya Ekiti, in the Ekiti East Local Government area, have intercepted a vehicle filled with stolen goats in the community.
The interception happened around three this morning when the suspects were perfecting arrangements to transport the goats numbering about twenty.
Upon the arrival of the men of the Vigilante, the suspects escaped arrest and abandoned the car and the goats.
The Asaya, Oba Ajayi Elejogun, described the incident as unfortunate, urging the police to track down the fleeing suspects.
The policemen in the community have commenced investigation by visiting the scene of the incident.
Residents of the community thanked the vigilantes for foiling the criminal activity and urged them not to relent their efforts.
