Friday, the 3rd of September will go down in the anal of Ekiti State Sports Council as the day that one of its most pragmatic General Managers took a bow from active service.
The former handballer who rose through the ranks as a Civil Servant to the peak of his career was celebrated by the Management Staff and Board Members of the Sports Council.
The Chairman of the Board, Mrs Olusola Osetoba eulogised the immediate past General Manager for being charismatic and cooperative .
Mrs Osetoba said Chief Ayodeji Samo deserved being celebrated owing to his remarkable achievement while in active service especially in the area of Sports development.
She prayed God to grant him more strength and wisdom to carry on .
A Board Member, Ekiti State Sports Council, Mr Francis Akinlabi as well as other Board Members were not left out of commendations for the retired General Manager whom they all described as a sportsman per excellence in view of his warm attitude to everyone both old and young.
The Acting General Manager, Mr Adekunle Adeyemi promised to build on the good and lofty achievements of Chief Samo at the Sports Council urging him not to be far from the sports arena.
Mr Adeyemi noted that the Management of the Sports Council will always count on the wealth of experience of Chief Samo in the quest to move Sports forward in the state.
As Chief Ayodeji Samo clocks 60 on Sunday September 5, he bowed out officially as a civil servant after 35 years on Friday.
He could not hide his joy at the sumptuous gala that he was treated to by officials of the Sports Council noting that his story as an individual and a civil servant would be incomplete without the Ekiti State Sports Council.
He urged all members of staff to eschew bitterness but rather unite and work in synergy with the management to take the council to greater heights.
Chief Samo congratulated the new acting General Manager, Mr Adekunle Adeyemi on his appointment urging him to strive towards consolidating on the legacies of past General Managers .
The sendforth ceremony for the outgone General Manager, Ekiti State Sports Council, Chief Ayodeji Samo also witnessed photo sessions , menu menu and testimonies.
