Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps is set to partner Afe Babalola University (ABUAD) Ado Ekiti to enhance manpower development and increase the technical know-how of officers.
The Commandant General, Dr Ahmed Abukakar Audi, who was represented by the Assistant Commandant General in charge of Training and Manpower Development ACG David Abi made this known at a meeting with the management of Afe Babalola University in Ado
In a release by the Public Relation Officer, Ekiti State command, Tolulope Afolabi, ACG David read out areas of possible collaborations with the institution to include staff training, manpower development, Intelligence and strategic training, health and para medical support system as well as short certification courses for the Officers and Men of the Corps.
The Vice Chancellor Prof Smaranda Olarinde showered encomium on the Commandant General whom she described as a trail blazer, reformer and architect of Modern paramilitary system in Nigeria .
She opined that the school has opened her doors to Civil Defence Corps to explore; and challenged officers and men of the Corps to further their studies in the institution as the University has designed a curriculum that fits the work schedule of the Corps with little or less financial implication.
In his welcome message, the founder of the University Are Afe Babalola CON, thanked the Commandant General for his love for the University and urged him to continue his lofty ideas of manpower development of the officers and men of the Corps .
The Founder further elucidated on the rapid development of the University over ten years and challenged that it is high time the security sector took advantage of opportunities and facilities available at the University.
Among the Commandant General delegations to the University were, the State Commandant of Ekiti State Command, John Olatunde, Men of Agro Rangers and two medical Doctors from the Corps.
Awards were presented to the founder of the University, Are Afe Babalola, which was also reciprocated by the University Board and Management to the Commandant General and the leader of the delegation ACG David Abi
