The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), BSES Chapel, has extended its profound appreciation to the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, for the remarkable step taken to ensure a stable power supply at the Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State (BSES).
The recent connection of the state-owned media station to the Independent Power Plant, IPP for regular power supply, following its earlier connection to the national grid, has effectively resolved the long-standing power supply challenge at the Corporation.
This move not only demonstrates Governor Oyebanji’s commitment to fulfilling his promises during his visit to the station but also reflects his proactive leadership in addressing the operational needs of BSES.
The Union acknowledged and celebrated this major milestone, which would significantly enhance the Corporation’s efficiency and service delivery.
However, like Oliver Twist, the Union humbly appeals to the Governor to consider further intervention through the provision of upgraded equipment and working tools, utility vehicles, and additional staff in the Engineering and News & Current Affairs Departments to fully optimize the station’s operations.
The NUJ, BSES Chapel, also seized this opportunity to congratulate the Commissioner for Information, Chief Taiwo Olatubosun, the Chairman and members of the BSES Board, the management team led by the General Manager, Mr. Olurotimi Popoola, and the entire staff of the Corporation on this significant achievement.
Signed,
Comrade Adedayo Adeleye
Secretary, NUJ BSES Chapel
Comrade Kelechi David
