In a resounding show of appreciation and solidarity, teachers from Oye Local Government area of Ekiti state have thrown their weight behind the re-election bid of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
The teachers, who gathered at the Local Government Secretariat, Oye Ekiti, praised Governor Oyebanji for his visionary leadership, which has brought about unprecedented development and growth in the education sector.
The Chairman, State Universal Education Board SUBEB, Prof. Femi Akinwumi who led other Stakeholders said that the endorsement was a testament to the Governor’s transformative leadership and unwavering commitment to education, which has positively impacted the lives of teachers, pupils, and the entire community.
“Governor Oyebanji has provided instructional materials worth millions of naira to public primary schools in Oye Local Government, which has enhanced teaching and learning and I am assuring your members that Mr Governor will not relent, you can also see that Mr Governor has made significant progress in the Construction and Renovation of our schools as well as the regular training and retraining of our teachers, this i believe will enhance their capacity and improve on their teaching skills. Prof Akinwumi said.
In their remarks, the State Chairman of NUT, Ekiti State Chapter Com. Olaitan Daodu, Education Secretary Oye LG, Hon. Femi Akomolafe and AOPSON Chairperson Oye LG. Com. Eunice Alegbe noted that the endorsement was unanimous and based on the governor’s administration’s achievements in various sectors, including education, healthcare, infrastructure, and economic development.
They highlighted several initiatives and policies implemented by the Governor, which have revolutionized teaching and learning in Oye Local Government.
”The Governor has ensured the regular payment of salaries and allowances, which has actually enhanced better living condition for our people and the Governor has been magnanimous in the promotion of our members who had been stagnated for years, thereby boosting their morale and motivation”. the trio remarked.
Also some political bigwigs from the local government including the Chairman APC in Oye LG. Hon. Samuel Ogunsakin, Member EKHA, Hon Idowu Odebunmi and the SSA on teachers’ matters, Hon. Fatai Oluyede noted that the endorsement of Governor Oyebanji by Oye Local Government teachers was a significant boost to his re-election campaign,
Other dignitaries at the event were Leader, Oye LG legislative House, Hon. Abayomi Abe, Education Secretary from Ado LG., Hon. Toyin Omotoso, his counterparts from Efon LG., Hon. Femi Afolayan, Ikole LG., Hon. Remi Oguntuase, Ilejemeje LG., Hon. Emmanuel Akinwumi and Ijero LG., Hon. Francis Agunbiade among others.
The teachers, who were visibly excited and enthusiastic, promised to mobilize their colleagues and voters in Oye Local Government to support Governor Oyebanji’s re-election bid.
