The Ekiti state Governor, Mr ‘Biodun Oyebanji says he has handed over the state to God for directions
Mr Oyebanji, who has officially assumed duty, solicited the cooperation of Ekiti people in the task of developing the state.
The governor commenced his first official activities with a brief prayer session at the government house chapel with members of his family, friends and some government officials in attendance
The governor said he did not have any power of his own and decided to look unto God for direction.
He expressed appreciation to Ekiti people and solicited their support to enable him achieve great and resounding success.
Mr Oyebanji thereafter proceeded to the governor’s office and hit the ground running as he attended to files and held series of meetings with government officials and stakeholders to receive briefings
Similarly, the State Deputy Governor, Chief Monisade Afuye has officially assumed office.
The Deputy Governor was accompanied by a former Deputy Governor, Mr Abiodun Aluko, some APC stakeholders, family members and friends from Ikere Ekiti.
It was the first working day after her inauguration as the Ekiti State Deputy Governor.
Chief Monisade who arrived the office about 10:00am was welcomed by the management and staff of the office followed with songs of praise and prayer at the Conference hall.
Addressing members of Staff shortly, the Deputy Governor said the first day at work was mainly for prayer and promised to meet with staff members on Tuesday.
The Deputy Governor later proceeded to her office, where clerics joined by a former Ekiti Deputy Governor, Mr Abiodun Aluko prayed to God to give her divine wisdom to succeed in the new tasks.
Chief Monisade Afuye who is the 10th Ekiti State Deputy Governor, succeeded, Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi.
