The immediate past Secretary to the Ekiti State Government, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has obtained the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for the 2022 Ekiti State Gubernatorial election.
Obtaining the forms at the headquarters of the All Progressives Congress headquarters in Abuja, Oyebanji, popularly called BAO, said his decision was hinged on the premise that the development of Ekiti should be sustained.
He said that being the youngest of those who struggled for the creation of Ekiti State, the blueprint for the transformation of the State would be his guiding principle.
Those with him at the brief ceremony included the Chief of Staff to the Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Omoleye, the Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly and his deputy, Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Prof Adio Folayan and the Chairman of the Ekiti State House of Assembly Service Commission, Chief Taiwo Olatubosun.
Others are Senator Olubunmi Adetunbi, Honourable Wumi Ogunmola, Hon. Olusola Fatoba, Mr Dapo Kolawole, Chairman of Board for Technical and Vocational Education, Mr Kayode Babade, some members of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, the Group Managing Director of Fountain Holdings, Mr Seyi Ayeleso, as well as other prominent Ekiti indigenes.
Oyebanji had yesterday tendered his resignation letter as Secretary to the Ekiti State Government in accordance with the directive of the Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, where he mandated those interested in contesting the Governorship poll among his Cabinet members to resign on or before December 18.
In the letter, BAO thanked the governor and his wife for giving him the opportunity to serve as the SSG.
He also sought the support of Ekiti people ahead of the Governorship poll.
