About two hundred widows selected from across the local government areas of Ekiti State have been supported with gifts, courtesy the wife of the state governor, Dr Olayemi Abiodun-Oyebanji.
The beneficiaries went home with cash and food items.
The wife of the governor, who expressed concern for the plight of the widows, said her office was working on a pet project that would further care for them.
She said the gift items were a tip of what the widows would receive later, adding that it was in continuation of what the former first lady, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, did while in office.
The beneficiaries were full of appreciation to the wife of the governor for reaching out to them at this particular period, praying that God would reward her.
