Oyebanji’s aide, Mosunmola, rallies support for governor

Barely six months after her appointment, the Senior Special Assistant to the Ekiti State Governor on Women Empowerment, Mrs Mosunmola Tunji-Saliu, has empowered selected food vendors from across the state.

The beneficiaries, went home with cash and food items and were also enlightened on how to be hygienic and as well to take cognizance of their health.

The Empowerment Programme, which brought together food vendors from different Communities in Ekiti State, had the Ekiti First Lady, Dr Olayemi Abiodun-Oyebanji, the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Habitat Adubiaro, Commissioners for Women Affairs, Health and Environment in attendance.

The beneficiaries, who were excited about the Programme with different songs to appreciate the efforts of the governor, his wife, Olayemi and the organiser of the event.

In her remarks, the wife of the governor, Dr Abiodun-Oyebanji, who was represented at the occasion by her Senior Special Assistant, Political, Mrs Toyin Adepoju, commended Mrs Tunji-Saliu for giving back to the people, adding that, it was a bold step on her part to have complemented the human capital development of the BAO Administration.

She encouraged others to take a cue and keep supporting the Oyebanji government to succeed.

Also, the SSG, Dr Abibat Adubiaro, lauded the donor for the initiative, highlighting that the spirit of giving her was commendable.

She explained that the SSA had justified her office being in charge of Women Empowerment.

The Commissioners for Women Affairs, Mrs Peju Babafemi, those of Environment, Chief Tosin Ajisafe-Aluko and Health, Dr Oyebanji Filani, encouraged the beneficiares to make use of the knowledge gained during the event, particularly on hygiene as they prepare food for commercial purposes.

They also commended Mrs Tunji-Saliu for the initiative.

Earlier, Mrs Tunji-Saliu who is the CEO of MOSTUN CATERING Service, said that the initiative was borne out of her commitment to giving back to food vendors, being one of them.

She explained that the lectures on health and hygiene, which were incorporated into the empowerment programme, were to enlighten the beneficiaries on how best to protect their health and those of their customers.

The lectures on how to maintain good health and ensuring a hygienic environment were delivered by the Director of Women Affairs, Mrs Olukemi Akinleye and an environmental officer, Mrs Kehinde Kolawole.

The First Lady, the SSG and other personalities at the event, later handed over the gifts to the beneficiares.

The Ado APC Ward Four Chairman, Mr Babalola Tajudeen, also gave a thumbs up for the SSA for being thoughtful and for actualizing her dream.

One of the beneficiaries, who spoke on behalf of others, Mrs Mercy Ajayi, thanked the donor for the gifts.

The beneficiaries later rendered a special song to indicate their further support for Governor Oyebanji.
