Public Affairs Analyst, Afolayan knocks Presidency over comments on criticisms

By Tunji Saliu

The allegation by the presidency that some stakeholders in the country were planning to oust President Muhammadu Buhari has been described as unsubstantiated and a bad way of responding to criticisms.

The submission was given by a lecturer and Public Affairs Analyst, Dr Jide Afolayan, while speaking on the subject matter on EKTV Daybreak Nigeria.

He explained that democracy allowed for criticism aimed at putting sitting Governments on their toes so that things could be done rightly.

Afolayan, however, carpeted the Peoples Democratic Party over its recent statement on the current situation in the country, saying that the nation’s problems predated the regime of Buhari.

He suggested that the federal government should assemble some Eggheads on security to come up with a blueprint on how to combat the current spate of insecurity across the length and breath of the nation.

The Analyst also charged communities to firm up and ensure crime reduction and as well apprehended collaborators fuelling insecurity in their domains.

He also called on the police authorities to upscale crime prevention strategies by introducing latest technologies that would enhance their operations.
