The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria SWAN, Ekiti State Chapter will tomorrow (Thursday) organize the first in the series of a proposed monthly programme, tagged SWAN Roundtable.
Secretary, SWAN in Ekiti state, Bisi Ogunleye said the first edition will feature Taekwondo, a sport without Coach in Ekiti State, but which won a medal through Mordecai Ofe who became the first medal winner for Team Ekiti after winning a bronze in the heavyweight category of taekwondo at the recently concluded National Sports Festival in Benin city, Edo state.
The SWAN Secretary also said the guest at the SWAN Roundtable on Thursday is Mr Ehi Emhonyan who is a taekwondo instructor, member of the black belt college, a Taekwondo practitioner for 30 years and currently an aide to Governor Kayode Fayemi who will be sharing ideas with members of SWAN on the prospects of Ekiti becoming a force to reckon with in the game of taekwondo and he will also be answering questions on the bane of the game and how to move it forward as well as the benefits of being a taekwondo practitioner.
The maiden SWAN Roundtable begins at 12 noon at the VIP Stand in front of the SWAN Gallery, Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado Ekiti.
The Chairman ,SWAN,Ekiti State, Qozeem Oladapo said all members of SWAN from all broadcast media houses in the state, newspaper co-respondents and selected social media handlers are expected at the occasion which is aimed at beaming searchlight on pertinent grey areas of sports with a view to developing sports in Ekiti and also putting sports stakeholders on their toes and bridging the gap between the sports administrators and those practising sports.
