Teachers and other civil servants working in Afao-Ekiti and other adjoining communities have condemned the ban placed on commercial motorcycles, tricycles and mini buses transporting commuters from Ado to Afao Ekiti
It was alleged that the drivers’ union in Afao-Ekiti restricted the movement of the commercial transporters for no genuine reasons.
Most teachers residing in Oshodi, Ogo-Oluwa uso, prison areas had difficult time getting to their places of work as many of them were left stranded.
They explained that the development had threw them into undue suffering and discomfort.
According to one of the commuters Mr martins Jayeoba, who is a teacher, the drivers’ union decision would significantly hinder teaching and learning in Afao-Ekiti.
They called on government and other stakeholders to intervene in the matter to ameliorate the hardship been experienced in axis.
Efforts to speak with the drivers union proved abortive as no member of exco in the area was ready to address the press.
