The wife of the Chairman of the Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area, Mrs Kemisola Ogunleye has picked an abandoned male child at a refuse dump site in Are-Ekiti.
The baby boy, who was found in a polythene bag naked with his umbilical cord has injuries in the leg.
The baby had been taken to the Local Government Comprehensive Health Centre, Aaye quarters, Igede Ekiti for attention.
Mrs Ogunleye called on anyone with useful information about the mother and relative of the baby to contact the relevant authorities in the Council
She charged parents to take proper care of their children to avoid unwanted pregnancies.
The Wife of the Chairman was accompanied by the Council Supervisor for Health, Seyi Onatunde and other Social Workers of the Local Government.
Speaking on the condition of the baby, Mrs.Christiana Owoseni, the Health Secretary of Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government said the baby is not deformed and he is in good shape and good condition.
