The Ekiti State Police Command says, it has arrested two suspects in connection with murder of a 14 year old girl in Emure Ekiti.
The suspects are one 36 years old Mohammad Jamiu and 31 years old Bashir Alaba.
According to a release signed by the state public relations officer, SP Sunday Abutu, the suspects were arrested at a location close to where the crime was committed.
News had filtered in on Sunday that youths suspected to be herdsmen slaughtered the 14 for refusing the advances of the young men to have Carnal knowledge of her.

On 9th February, 2025 at about 19:10hrs, one Moses Toyin of Odo-Emure Street, Emure-Ekiti, came in distress to Emure Divisional Police Headquarters and reported that her husband, one Moses Joshua, before embarking on a journey to Oka Akoko in Ondo State, instructed their daughter, one MOSES FAITH, to go check his trap in his farm along Okeseri Road, Emure-Ekiti. According to her, while Moses Faith was going to the farm to check the trap, she went with her younger brother, one Moses
Testimony “5yrs”.
On getting to the farm, information from the younger brother who escaped from the scene has it that two men accosted them and threatened to either have carnal knowledge of Moses Faith or kill her. She refused and struggled with with them and in the process, they brought out two cutlasses, slit her throat and cut off her right hand.
Upon the receipt of the information, Police operatives from Emure Division swung into action and cordon off the farm. Two suspects, one Bashir Alaba “31yrs” and Mohammad Jamiu “36yrs”, were arrested very close to the scene of crime with two cutlasses suspected to have been used for the
heinous act. Investigation in progress.
