The founder and Leader of Atayese socio cultural group Chief Akin Ojo has felicitated the Ewi of Ado Ekiti oba Rufus Adejugbe on the celebration of this year’s udiroko festival slated for Wednesday 21st of August
Chief Akin Ojo-Atayese in a statement praised oba Adejugbe for been passionate and committed towards the preservation of the rich cultural heritage of Ado Ekiti.
The traditionalist said that oba Adejugbe who is the custodian of Ado-Ekiti culture and traditions had not abandoned the cultural values passed on to him by his forefathers
He explained that Ado Ekiti sons and daughters held the festival in high esteem as it marks the beginning of a new year as well serve as an event to preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage and tradition of the people of Ado Ekiti
Chief Akin Ojo-Atayese rejoiced with the eyesorun olori Bosede Adejugbe and members of the Ewi in council for witnessing the event adding efforts should be intensified to ensure that the festival attract more international attention in other to boost the tourism sector and improve the socio economic development of the state.
He commended governor Biodun Oyebanji for his roles towards promoting the core values of Yoruba culture and traditions, adding that the Atayese socio cultural group will continue to appease the deities for the state to witness peace and development.
The Ado -Ekiti born promoter of Yoruba culture and traditional religion said the Atayese socio cultural group will be relentless in giving various cultural festivals in Ado -Ekiti and Ekiti-State in general the prominence they deserve and as well promote them beyond the shores of the country.
