As the Christmas season approaches, it is expected of well to do individuals to reach out to the aged, and the vulnerable in the society.
Against this backdrop, the Kayode Adamolekun Foundation has given out 5 kg bags of rice, clothes, and cash to about five hundred aged people in Aisegba Community.
The Founder, Mr Kayode Adamolekun, an Engineer, said that the move was borne out of his passion for the elderly in the spirit of the yultide.
Mr Adamolekun said that the gesture was to make the beneficiaries feel a sense of belonging during the festivities.
“This is not the first time we are doing this, if I guess right, this will be our tenth year of doing it, and mind you, we are not doing it for politics, but just to touch the people at this particular period, government alone cannot do it, the economic situation in town now is not suitable, reasons why all well to do individuals should rise up and bless the less privileged around them”
Mr Adamolekun, who said the gifts were not for political gains, said he only sought the prayers of the aged selected across Aisegba Community.
While reaffirming that his interest was not for politics, but for the vulnerable in the society, said he would love to work for government at any level to cater for his people.
“I do not want anything from this people rather than their prayers, they should pray for me and my business, to answer your question my brother, I’m not interested in politics, but if i want to be considered for appointment, i will like to do it free of charge, i will like to serve the people without collecting a dime from the government…Adamolekun said
The Patron of the Foundation, Mr Taiwo Akingbeyin, further explained the rationale behind the gesture.
One of the guests at the event, Chief Kasim Adekunle, lauded the Mr Adamolekun for the gesture.
