They made the call following the latest kidnapping and killing of a retired Local Government Officer and farmer, Mr Cyril Fasuyi, in the community while returning from Ora-Ekiti.
A source, who pleaded anonymity, explained that Mr Fasuyi was killed by unknown gunmen on Wednesday and that the following day, suspected bandits kidnapped one Mr Louis Oni and some other persons in the town.
The source added that Mr Oni, who is the President of Catholic Men Organization, Usi Deanery, and other victims were on their way to Ido-Ekiti when they were abducted.
Speaking with the BSES via the telephone, the Olorin of Orin-Ekiti, Oba Olufemi Ajibewa, confirmed the incident and said that a woman was among those kidnapped..
The traditional ruler said security agencies had been on the trail of the abductors who had already established contact with the family, requesting for fifteen million naira ransom.
Oba Ajibewa called on the State Government and relevant security agencies to do more in securing the lives and properties of the people of the community.
The Ekiti State Police Public Relation Officer, ASP Sunday Abutu, said the Command would soon furnish newsmen with details.
