Hundreds of people from some communities in Ido/Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State have benefitted from food items and cash donated by a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC) from Orin Ekiti, Dr Ayodeji Ayodele Dada
Speaking from his base in the US, the Originator of Positive Youth Dreamers Empowerment Foundation (PYDEF) an umbrella body for HAYODA MOVEMENT and HAYODA FOUNDATION said the intervention became imperative to mitigate the present economic situation in the areas.
The Orin Ekiti born philanthropist who said that the items were meant to support the activities of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji noted that the intervention was his own little way of appreciating the good work of the Governor .
According to him, other intervention Programmes instituted by the NGO apart from the distribution of food items were, scholarship for students, football competition to Foster unity among the youths, free Medical Outreach ,Chistmas Party for the Children in the communities.
Among the beneficiaries were: the aged, widows, widowers and the less privileged who were mostly affected by the economic hardship that were carefully selected at Orin, Ora and Ido Ekiti
In their remark ,the beneficiaries described Dr Dada as an honest philanthropist who truly love his people, particularly, the downtrodden and urged other well to do members in the society to emulate his good gestures.
The beneficiaries who could not hide their feelings were elated; sang and danced to show appreciation.
Highpoint of the programme was a special prayer for those who donated towards the project and peace of the community.
Items distributed include; Rice, Beans, among other consumables, with a promise to do more .
