The death has occured of Dr. Fagbohun Abraham Babatope of Usi Ekiti, at the age of 81.
Born on July 27, 1941, the young Fagbohun obtained MSc. (Mathematics) from the Peoples’ Friendship University, USSR, in 1973 and Ph.D (Mathematical Statistics) from University College, Swansea, Wales, in 1978.
The research interest of Dr. A. B. Fagbohun was in the area of Stochastic processes applied to biological and time series models.
He has many peer-review journal articles to his credit.
He thought Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, where he rose to the rank of Associate Professor. before he retired from active service from the University.
After bowing out of active service at OAU Ife, Dr Fagbohun had a stint at Bowen University, Iwo, in Osun State, where he was appointed Head of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics on the 1st of February, 2013 and served in that capacity until the 31st of July 2017.
He died on the 20th of March, 2023
He is survived by wife, Mrs Mary Olufunke Fagbohun(Née Agbeyo), children and grandchildren.

Daddy was a family-oriented man to the core, very calm, loving, kindhearted, generous, God-fearing to mention just a few. He was so concerned and involved in all of our lives, always praying for us. Daddy had a special way of calling all his children. Mine is Yem Yem. Adiue aba omo. Continue to rest in the bosom of your maker till we meet on the resurrection day.
