Armed Forces Remembrance: EKSG holds special Jumaat Prayers for fallen heroes

……….as Governor Oyebanji calls for unity of the country.

The Ekiti State Governor Mr Biodun Oyebanji has stressed the need for all Nigerians to work towards sustaining the nation’s unity and peaceful coexistence, just as the country celebrates the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

The Governor stated this during the Special Jumat Service, held at the Government House Mosque in Ado to mark the remembrance day.

Governor Oyebanji who was represented at the service by the Secretary to the State Government Dr Abibat Adubiaro said that the unity of the country was non negotiable.

He urged Nigerians to exercise patience and promised that the country would soon overcome all its various challenges.

The Governor hailed the contributions of the ex servicemen for the peace and unity of the nation.

Oyebanji restated the commitment of government to the families of the gallant fallen heroes.

In his sermon, the Chief Imam of Government House Mosque Alhaji Abdulfatai Olorunkemi used the occasion to pray for families of the ex-servicemen.

The Islamic Cleric urged those still in the active service not to relent in protecting the territorial integrity of the country and provision of safety for the lives and property of the citizens.

At the service were the Permanent Secretary office of establishment and service matters Alhaji Muftau Shittu, Chairman Nigerian Legion Conel Abdulrasak Atoki Rtd and the representative of the Commander 32 Artillery Brigade, Brigadia General Jubril Garuba among others.

Prayers were offered for the families of the fallen heroes, those still in service and the state government at the service
