Large turnout as schools resume for second term in Ekiti

Public and Private Schools in Ekiti State recorded high turn out of students and pupils on the first day of resumption for the second term academic session.

Schools in the state had last year went on a three weeks break to enable teachers and students celebrate Christmas and New Year celebration.

At some of the Schools visited in Ado the state capital students and pupils began to arrive their schools as early as 7 in the morning.

Some of the pupils and students were already on the assembly when BSES visited.

The students who were full of excitement to be back in school were seen settling down for the day academic work.

The Principal of Harding Model College Okesa in Ado Mrs Ofi Olubunmi said that the student’s turnout was encouraging adding that teaching and learning activities would commence in earnest.

She lauded the state government for providing an enabling environment for a sound education.

Also Mrs Helen Balogun of Holy Child primary school in Ado said teachers were fully ready to teach on the first day of resumption after the three weeks break.

The Chairman of SUBEB Professor Femi Adewumi while speaking with BSES congratulated the both teachers and pupils for witnessing another academic session saying government would be relentless in providing needed tools for efficient teaching and learning.

He advised the teachers to remain focused , make themselves available in their schools and continue to be nation builders.
