African football ruling body, the Confederation of African Football has appointed Mr Issa Hayatou as its honorary president.
Rising from a meeting in Yaounde, Cameroon, the CAF Executive Committee recognised the Cameroonian for serving as its substantive president for decades, (1998-2017)
Hayatou left office in 2017 after losing the CAF Presidential election to the now suspended Ahmad Ahmad
Ahmad is currently serving a five-year ban imposed by FIFA while elections into CAF executive committee will take place in March 2021.
