The Ekiti State Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ado Ekiti , presided over by Magistrate Saka Afunso has granted an order to remand Ogunlola Gboyega in the Nigeria Correctional Centre, Ado Ekiti.
According to the charge Ogunlola Gboyega was suspected to have committed the offences of rape, attempted murder and stealing from a 27 year old girl in Iworoko Ekiti last Sunday.
The victim in her statement, said she was heading for Anambra State to attend to family issues, when she was picked by Ogunlola whom she believed was also heading to the state.
She said she however slept off in the vehicle only to find herself in Ogunlola’s room where she was raped, and beaten which landed her in the hospital.
The victim also alleged that the defendant stole her phone and cash sum of Two hundred and sixty thousand naira.
The case has been adjourned to next month for mention.
