The Ekiti State House of Assembly has ratified the request of the State governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji to handover the General Hospital , Ikole Ekiti to the Federal ministry of Health for the take off of the proposed Federal Medical Centre.
This was sequel to a letter sent by the governor and was read by the Speaker, Mr Adeoye Aribasoye at the plenary.
The lawmakers expressed happiness that Ekiti state was selected as one of the six beneficiaries of the newly created Federal Medical Centre.
Members thereafter ratified the governor’s request to handover the General Hospital Ikole property to Federal Ministry of Health.
And, the lawmaker representing Ikere constituency 2 , Mr Babatunde Idowu has called on the state government to consider Ekiti South in future in the allocation of Federal institution in the spirit of equity.
In another development , the Assembly has condemned the attack of Yoruba Nation Agitators on Oyo state House of Assembly and governor’s office , Ibadan last week.
They called on the Federal government to prosecute the hoodlums hiding under Yoruba Nation to perpetrate criminal activities.
The lawmakers urged Ekiti State government to beef up security around public institutions across the state and schools.
In response to the petition sent by the residents of Fajuyi Estate , Ado , the Assembly urged all agrieved party in the matter to maintain status quo pending the submission of the Assembly Committee on Land assigned to do thorough investigation.
The lawmakers also passed Ekiti State Local Content law 2024 at the plenary.
