Araromi Community leaders condemn character assassination on Oba elect, Prince Babalola

…Affirm transparency in selection process

Concern citizens in Araromi Ekiti in Ijero Local Government Area of Ekiti State have condemned the incessant attack on the personality of the Alararomi Elect, Prince Babatunde Babalola, by some faceless group who does not want the peace and progress of the community.

The community leaders including President of Araromi Progressive Union who doubles as the head of the warriors of the town, chief Olusegun Agboola, said rather than wasting energy and resources in spreading falsehood to whip up sentiment against the oba elect, the aggrieved persons should accept the outcome of the February 18, 2023 ifa divination in the interest of the development of the town.

He said that the selection process that led to the emergence of Prince Babalola followed the laid down procedures and was carried out in public glare wondering why the aggrieved persons decided to hold the whole community to ransom by stalling the installation process

Chief Agboola said the various moves by the aggrieved persons on social media platforms and conventional media does not portrayal the image of the community in good light.

Also, another community leader Chief Steven Afolayan explained that sponsored narratives about the community and the Oba elect prince were not the true picture of things, saying the entire community are in support of the Oba elect not minding various actions to discredit him.

Similarly, one of the elders of the royal family, Prince Adeyinka Olatunji condemned the controversy and litigations that trailed the emergence of prince Babalola adding that the move would retard the progress of the community.

He urged Governor Biodun Oyebanji to intervene and take a decisive step that will put an end to the obaship tussle.
