Minimum wage: Ekiti Government appeals for understanding

The Ekiti State government has again called for the corporation of the labour unions in the state particularly at this period that the state is battling with paucity of fund.

The state commissioner for information and values reorientation Mr Akinbowale Omole Made this known on the weekly program Ekiti in focus on our Television and Radio channels.

Mr Omole explained that since the inception of the present administration in the state the welfare of workers had been the major priority of the government.

He solicited for more understanding from the workers in the state to overcome the current challenges saying that the allocation accrued to the state from the federation account had reduced drastically.

On the current security challenges in the state and the country as a whole, Mr Omole noted that all hands must be on deck to battle the menace.

He called on stakeholders at Ikere Ekiti to come together in flushing out criminalities in the community.

The government spokesperson said that the recently launched Rice pyramid in the state was an attestation to the readiness of the governor to provide employment to the citizen of the state through Agriculture.
